The Province of Manitoba has ordered that all non-essential businesses close as of April 1, 2020 for a period of two weeks. We are considered an essential service according to the list provided by the government:
73. A business that provides for the health and well-being of animals, including farms, boarding kennels, stables, animal shelters, zoos, aquariums, research facilities and other service providers.
With that being said, our team at MUR wants to do our part in helping promote social distancing, health and safety within our community. We have made the decision to suspend our adoptions program for a two week period. We will reassess on April 14, 2020 or as the Province provides updates.
We will continue our work rescuing who we can during this difficult time and caring for the 27 dogs currently in our care. However with a lack of fundraisers, please consider donating to support our rescue during this this time. As a charity, we have limited funds for veterinary care, dog food and other crucial supplies.
