FORCED INTAKE FREEZE

MUR Team General

To our valued donors,

We are in dire need of donations for our veterinary bills. Our bills have totaled $20,000 this month due to a few costly surgeries and treatments, and regular veterinary care that the dogs in our care required. Due to these overwhelming veterinary bills we have been forced to make the sad decision to temporarily freeze intake for new dogs.

MUR does our best to never overextend ourselves financially, but it is not always possible to predict what care will be required when we save a dog in need. It’s impossible to predict exactly what care incoming dogs will need. This month alone, we have had Heartworm treatments, orthopedic surgeries for two dogs, and other costly emergency surgeries and treatments. This is all on top of our regular veterinary bills for basic vetting needs. The bills incurred saving and caring for these dogs have left us extremely short on funds and unfortunately unable to come to the aid of dogs that are still suffering throughout our province.

With your donation we can continue to save lives. For many, your donation makes the difference between life or death for a suffering animal needing rescue. Your donation means that another pregnant mama has a safe place to have her puppies (and a safe spay to ensure she doesn’t have any more); it will mean that bellies are full, and painful injuries are fixed; it will mean the world to unwanted and unloved animals throughout our province.

Please make a donation to MUR and save a life at www.manitobaunderdogs.org/donate.

With my utmost thanks,
